La construcción visual del género en los carteles de las campañas electorales chilenas de 2016 y 2017

This article follows previous research concerning how gender operates in electoral campaigns. The purpose of this is to understand the way visual culture interrelates with a gendered political culture. A qualitative methodological design was used, based on photographic records posters displayed public spaces Valparaíso and Santiago during two campaigns held Chile respectively for 2016 municipal elections 2017 parliamentary ones. theoretically guided analysis conducted sociology perspectives. results show that norms act under different forms bodies messages appear, what evince spite context growing feminist mobilizations higher number female candidates, propaganda (re)produce new classic stereotypes without questioning inequalities. In respect, study we conclude images analyzed reproduce range about representation continue shape «common sense visual» (Caggiano, 2012) which reinforces hegemonic understanding politics.
